The dart board below is a target at the County Fair dart throwing game. What is the probability of hitting the shaded region of the target? Assume you always hit the board but the location on the board is random. Hit a Target 100 | 70 degrees

Formula = (area of unshaded region) / (area of the dartboard) You need to know the radii of the unshaded region and the dartboard. Next, substitute into area formulas. The radius of unshaded region is 3 and the radius of the dartboard is 7. The Probability that the dart hit’s the unshaded region is 9/49. The probability that the dart hit’s the unshaded region if every too hit’s the dartboard is P(dart hits in the unshaded region). What is the probability of throwing a dart and hitting the unshaded region if every toss hit’s the dart board? Explain how you arrived at your solution. Hit a Target 200 | 47 degrees

P(x) = {10! / (X! (10-X)!)} x (0.1)^X x 0.9^ (10-X) The probability of 1 hit is 0.38 with p=0.1. What is the probability of hitting a target x times in 10 tries if the probability of hitting the target in any one shot is 1/10? Hit a Target 300 | 18.75 s

How is it different from an ENDOthermic Food as Energy 300 | Q(6) = 158,773 bacteria A biologist wants to study the growth of a certain strain of bacteria. She starts with a culture containing 25,000 bacteria. After three hours, the number of bacteria has grown to 63,000. How many bacterial will be present in the culture 6 hours after she started her study? Assume the population grows exponentially. Population Growth 300 |

The probability of an event is the number of ways the event can occur divided by the number of possible outcomes. Considering the case of the red color, the total number of divisions is 20 and the total number of red divisions is 5. Therefore the probability for hitting the red section is 5/20 and to find the probability in percent you multiply it by 100, which is 25%. Repeat process for the other three colors.
Design a dart board for a dart tournament that meets the following conditions” ¼ is red, 15% is green, 0.4 is yellow, and the rest is blue. If you threw 100 darts at the board what is the probability of hitting each color? Explain how you arrived at your answer. Hit a Target 400 | 128.1 m

After 17 days, there are 38.7 grams remaining. How much of the substance will be present after 40 days? Assume the substance decays exponentially. Population Growth 400 |

Let the first shooter hit the second with probability p, and miss with probability p’. Of course we have p + p’ = 1. Likewise, define q andq‘. So the first shooter wins exactly when he lands the first shot. Thus, the probability that the first shooter wins is given by the following geometric sum: p + p’q’p + p’2q’2p + p’3q’3p+ ... = p / (1 - p’q’) And the probability that the second shooter wins is given by: p’q + p’2q’q + p’3q’2q +p’4q’3q + ... = p’q / (1 -p’q’) It should reassure the reader that, since exactly one of the shooters must win the duel, the formulas do indeed add to 1. Using these formulas, analysis is straightforward. Either player increases his chance of winning by increasing his chance of hitting. By satisfying p = q / (1 + q) we equalize each players probability of winning — that is, they each will win with probability 0.5. Two opponents facing one and other take turns shooting at one another, each with a fixed probability of hitting his opponent. Prove that the probability they each will win is 0.5. Hit a Target 500 | 0 m (it will land at your feet!)

At the beginning of the study, the population was 4,500,000. Three years later, it was 6,200,000. What will the population be in 2 years? What will the growth rate be in 2 years?
